Hotam — Signet Ring
What It Means to Be God's Signet Ring
In ancient times, a king's signet ring was pressed into wax to authenticate decrees, mark ownership, and establish authority. It never left the king's hand — and it was never used apart from him. To be God's Hotam is to be consecrated, chosen, trusted, and kept close. But a signet ring pressed into the earth too long without rest loses its impression. This retreat was created for that moment.
Your authority flows from intimacy with God. A signet ring has power only while on the owner's hand.

A signet ring only moves when the hand moves. Obedience is how you move with God — not ahead of Him, not behind Him. Authority is the fruit of surrender, not ambition.

Before you carry His seal, He places His seal on you. The believer is God's marked, owned, authenticated possession. You don't take the ring — He places it on you.

God gives authority. God can remove authority. Character sustains calling. The signet ring promise was removed in Jeremiah — and restored in Haggai. Rest, repentance, and return are always possible. You are here because He is restoring you.

The word "royal law" in James 2:8 is νόμον βασιλικόν — the king's highest governing principle. When love rules the marriage, pride loses the throne, anger loses the throne, selfishness loses the throne.
